Is it wrong for married men to use chat rooms weather they are long term married?
or short term married and that does include sites like music sites etc Not just general chat rooms. am just asking as I would imagine if I were married long term or short term all my energy would be or should be put into my marriage and using the internet to chat to others full stop, would be unncessary. Or am I just old fashioned? I mean what about the consequences to the children of those marriages or the people they are chatting to, particularly single people.

people need to communicate with other people… especially if you have similar interests…
being married or in a relationship doesn’t mean you CAN’T talk to anyone else or do anything else…
try being more mature… no wonder you aren’t in a relationship!!!

I agree, if you are in a long term relationship and you feel settled socially I don’t see the need or want to go to chat rooms, other than to meet new people or be promiscuous.

I have been married 33 years and to put all ones energy into a marriage would mean there was something wrong with the marriage?
A successful marriage allow the husband and wife to have their own lives and friends, male and female friends that are not people you have sex with.
Adult chat rooms if you are only chatting and not making arrangements to meet up why is there a problem. Most people like to talk about sex and to flirt a little.
My wife is 52 and still flirts when we go out and most who are attracted to her are under 40′s, I am OK with this because we do not cheat.
I and friends went to Amsterdam for a long weekend some of my friends wives said they could not go if my wife had said that I would have gone for a month. But she would never do that and she said oh great that will be fun have a nice time.
Being married you do not have to live in each others pockets doing so leads to break ups.

Chat rooms are breeding ground for emotional affairs. If your married chat rooms have to be carefully monitored by both partners. Personally I don’t think a married person should be in a chat room at all. I agree that everyone needs friends to talk with, but when your married it shouldn’t be in chat rooms where your conversations are completely unavailable to your spouse. If your married you should one have friends together or connect with friends via Facebook. Still NO chatting there either. but connect with friends. My husband and I both share all our passwords just to keep the lines of communication open between each other.

Depends on what kind of chat room. There are various of chat room. Some people seek
out chat rooms for entertainment and some just seek out for other things. But if the person
is going to chat rooms to meet others on dating or to check out sex cams then it is totally
wrong. So there is nothing wrong with chat rooms if the other person is keeping it clean.
I used to do chat rooms all the time before marriage, sometimes I do and not to meet
anyone. But they do have chat rooms just for many other things without meeting or lusting for another. I sometimes go to
those myself…….. Face Book, Tweeter, & My space people are able to go on there for chat
but to make a long story short. Nothing is wrong with a person chatting unless they are trying
to meet someone.

It’s a difficult question but there is a reasonable answer that relates to Obsession.
A partner in a committed relationship especially marriage should respect the other partner enough to avoid all aspects of obsessive flirting with others in a way that might jeopardize the committed relationship.
This means that any passing flirtatious comments must be small and in frequent if at all and all moments where conversation leads towards more disrespectful activity regarding the partners real relationship should be therefore a lesson towards changing his or her attitude regarding the communication and respect for the real relationship such that they remain committed as long as they want to be that way (honesty is a virtue during such lessons).
In this day and age such a learning curve cannot be avoided as people are growing ever more familiar with the communicative ease of the internet.

Well I consider this as a form of chat room myself, but to answer the question no it’s not a problem. Cyber affairs are totally wrong but chatting is just chatting

I would have thought that it was wrong for anyone who is involved in a relationship good or bad to use chat rooms..

if you are exclusively looking to talk to women, then yeah, its wrong, and u know it. if you’re simply chatting to anyone equally, male or female, then its ok. but keep the chatting sex free, and dont make urself appear to be available. basically, dont type anything you wouldnt want your partner to read. then you know youre not doing anything wrong. x

i am not married but i have been in a long term semi marriage, for many years, with the man, we made a comment to each other, and gave each other rings, and i ware mine ever day, and not speak to other men, or chat on line to other men, i do not think if i should, i am commented to him, and i don’t chat with others, , and it does have effect on people that you speak to,, they may take it wrong, and then talking becomes lets meet and crap like that . so why put your self out like that,
i think the way you said it is great, that you are old fashion, wish there where more old fashion out there, , you stay old fashion, and love your wife or your girlfriend if your not married to the fullest, and your right, don’t be talking to others and chatting with other, keep old fashion going have a blessed day
