Is there a such thing as an apartment with no credit check, no minimum salary and short term leases?

apartment for short term
I need to temporarily move into an apartment for about 6 months until more permanent residence comes up for me. As of July 14th I will be homeless because the house I was living in has been sold. My mom is getting an inheritance of $20,000 and would be able to pay the full lease plus whichever fees are needed up front. Her only issue is she has terrible credit, she’s claimed bankruptcy, written bad checks, is in the negatives in her bank account and owes the government money. We also do not have a cosigner and my mom makes about $1,000 a month at most. We live and would prefer to stay in the Schaumburg area, but right now it would be nice to know if these types of aparments exist, and that its not just either or.
I do also have bad credit as well and a lower income job. I only work part time as I am going to school full time and I have no means of transportation because I don’t have a license or a car.

You want to look for an apt/house that is owned/maintained by an individual/family. Places like these that are maintained by “Management” companies would never let you in(probably not), and as long as you can pay the rent an individual is more likely to be open to working with you. Also you want either a three month or a month-to-month lease as you are staying less than a year.

What are you going to do after the 20K is gone? That is not very much money.

You may be able to find a motel room by-the-week. Of course, if you do not pay on the due day by noon, your stuff goes out in the street instantly. No other landlord is about to take someone with bad credit, bankruptcy, a record of writing bad checks, and ridiculous “income.”

That inheritance goes to the bankruptcy court for payment of creditors.

What are you doing to earn money, since clearly your mom does not earn enough to support herself, no less you. Mom needs to get a second job or more hours or something to make a better living. You need to get to work. If you are a minor child, start babysitting, lawnmowing, dog walking or whatever you are able to do to earn money.

You have about 30 days to turn this all around or you had better start looking to buy a tent and find a bridge to set it up under. You & mom have let things get so incredibly bad that you will not pull this out unless you really bust your buns immediately to get yourselves squared away.

I would look for something yourself not with your mom. She seems like someone with major problems. You can find your own place just like you did where you are now. You will get your deposit back maybe and if you prepaid the last month’s rent you have that. You didn’t say if you have bad credit or low income yourself so you may be in much better shape than your mother. If she has a place to live maybe you can go live with her. Maybe combine your good credit score and income with her cash to convince someone to take a chance on you together.

If you have a lease they can’t make you move until it is over even if they sell the house.
