Please let me know if you could help. I contacted Privacymatters.com but they say they never deal with apartment

I was in search of renting an apartment last month and there’s one place I was interested in. I contacted the landlord and she tried to make a contract by third party as she is in Germany.
Long story short, I got an email from PrivacyMatters.com about the detailed info about the apartment.
The following is the part of info in the email:
How Escrow Transaction works?
Renter and Landlord Agree to Terms:
Both parties agree to terms of the transaction, which includes a description of the apartment, rent price/month
Renter Pays Privacy Matters:
The Renter submits a payment, using MoneyGram to our agent . Privacy Matters verifies the payment. Processing time takes about 1-2 working days.
Landlord Shows the Apartment:
Upon payment verification, the Landlord is authorized to show the property and finalize a contract .
The Renter has the option to accept or rejec
